Indie Female Filmmakers (Vanessa Silva, Heather Hentila, Chelsea Gray, Ainsley Strachan) chronicle their filmmaking journey with guest female industry mentors on every project. Each one speaking on their experience in the industry and, more specifically, being a woman in the industry and then teaching/mentoring their specialty.

 

The team then puts to practice what they’ve learned from the mentor in a short film released every month on the Footlights YouTube page - featuring a different genre every month. Listeners can apply to be crew & cast for each project with preference going to gender and racial parity and partial monetization from each film going to organizations like Black Girl Film School, Alliance of Women Directors, and Women in Film etc.
